Endeavour

Endeavour

The Space Shuttle Endeavor makes its final flight over the Golden Gate Bridge.

Trona on the Horizon

Trona on the Horizon

A brilliant sunset at the Trona Pinnacles.  It was 115 degrees and the wind was howling at 50 mph this evening, what a night in the desert!

This location is popular in films and has been used in 2001 A Space Odyssey and Star Trek V.

Golden Gate Twilight

Golden Gate Twilight

Twilight descends over San Francisco and the Golden Gate after a spectacular sunset.

Tunnel View Star Trails

Tunnel View Star Trails

An 18 minute exposure overlooking Yosemite Valley. The landscape was lit by moonlight.

Moonset

Moonset

The full moon sets over Conway Summit at sunrise in the Eastern Sierras.

North Lake Road

North Lake Road

The area around Lake Sabrina and North Lake in the fall, its like driving through a golden tunnel. To properly capture my sense of awe for this place using my camera I waited to shoot until the sun was behind the aspens, making them glow like liquid fire.

Red Rock

Red Rock

Ive been wandering the desert a lot lately, even though its been so hot. Seems to hover around 105+ even after sunset!
This is a little corner of Red Rock Canyon State Park along Hwy 14. Its a strange park since you can quickly hike out of site of the highway, but never out of earshot. This is a two shot stitch taken while perched on a surprisingly precarious ridge.
The rock was really slippery, I managed to take this while only slipping once!.  Its hard to determine scale in this image but the drop off to the right is 15 ft high.
